Austin’s coolest 3D printing start-up, re:3D (re3d.org) is seeking assistance with our manufacturing operations in Austin. As an Assembly and Production Specialist, you will be responsible for aspects of building 3D printer components, preparing assemblies, coordinating written instructions and training others. You must also conduct quality assurance to ensure the efficient production of industrial 3D printers. The ideal candidate is a creative, self-motivated team player who can work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment and who is determined to create efficiency and ensure that printers manufactured are the best quality.

Responsibilities

• Perform precision mechanical assembly tasks.
• Manage multiple projects concurrently.

• Design detailed assembly procedures.
  Train production staff on new procedures.
• Collaborate closely with product engineers and customer support to troubleshoot assembly problems and support product development.

• Travel up to 2-3 times a month as required.

Qualifications

• Demonstrates fluency with the use of precision hand tools.

• Strong communication and basic math skills (adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing whole numbers and fractions and converting fractions to decimals and vice versa).

Are you an Electrical Engineer and Technician with 10+ years of experience working with machine control systems, circuit design, stepper and servo motors, PLC, control cabinet layout and design? Responsibilities

• Troubleshooting and new product design of control systems for 3D printers.
• Cable assembly, control panel wiring, and light mechanical assembly.
• Perform assembly tasks such as crimping, cutting, screwing, press fitting, bolting, soldering, sanding, cleaning, stamping, labeling, taping, marking, and color-coding parts.

As the User Experience Lead you must have a love for 3D printing and community interaction. You will be responsible for replying to customer issues in a timely manner using Zendesk, taking low volume customer calls, and bi-monthly reporting to the engineering team. You’ll work to create proactive solutions for customer success such as maintaining/creating content for our forum, updating/consolidating documentation, and brainstorming new and creative ways of supporting our community. You will also be willing to travel to give training and complete on-site repairs for our customers.
