As the User Experience Lead you must have a love for 3D printing and community interaction. Our ideal teammate will be responsible for outbound sales targeting and sales reporting for “Gigabot”, the world’s largest, affordable 3D printer, sold in 53 countries. Gigabot markets to both enterprises and end users across diverse applications, including: government agencies, specialty manufacturers, rapid prototypers, universities, artists, and hobbyists, among others.

Competative candidates possess a college degree in STEM, extensive experience in 3D printing, a passion for community, and 1 to 5 years of sales experience, preferably in manufacturing and/or precision tools. Must have competence in sales analysis/targeting, growth hacking, and FFF 3D printer operation.

This position requires effective verbal & written communication skills both in person and in digital/virtual formats. Proficiency in computer and typing skills with knowledge in Microsoft Office, Dropbox and Google Drive is required. Primarily we will be running onsite workshops and community events from our Houston Factory to develop physical platforms to engage the local 3D printing community, as well as outposts in Austin & San Juan Puerto Rico. We also maintain a presence on several social media channels and open source engagement platforms.
Currently, our marketing & community support team is small but mighty, and with this new hire, we are looking to add more horsepower and strategic-prowess to the team. We are open to receiving applications from individuals who may have limited partnerships, marketing, and education experience who would join us at an associate level up to those serving as senior executives with 10+ years experience in ed. The ultimate package for this role in terms of compensation and managerial responsibilities will be commensurate of experience.

RESPONSIBILITIES

    • You will work alongside our current Creative Partnerships team to identify new business opportunities and develop innovative, integrated proposals.
    • You will focus your work primarily on developing a robust community presence and workshops from Houston TX
    • With a strong focus on creating new leads, you will strive to secure at minimum 20, and ideally 40, original conversations a month with new prospective partners or customers.     • When requested, during specific gatherings hosted by re:3D worldwide, you may serve as a host, liaison, and relationship manager for partners present at a given program.

Know Your Filament

Love to 3D print? Excited to try printing with every known filament under the sun? We are looking for someone with a curious mind to work  in collaboration with re:3D and the University of Texas mechanical engineering and additive manufacturing labs to evaluate 3D printing materials. Create ASTM test samples and document filament characteristics for all existing and experimental filaments from semi-flex to potato based filament to high strength carbon fiber and Ultem.

Battery Backup for Current 24V Gigabot

Create a battery backup system for the current Gigabot design, and document the ability to print after losing power for over one hour. Package as a retrofit for the Gigabot so that all of our existing customers can utilize this capability.

Skillsets: Organized, knowledge of 3D printing, electrical engineering, a great attitude, experience hacking, strong technical writing

Flexible Extrusion

Complete a series of projects to evaluate and increase the capability to print with more materials. Projects include:

  • Developing a protocol to evaluate prints made with new nozzles
  • Hacking a prototype extruder compatible for printing with 6mm “sticks” of PET
  • Evaluating a series of nozzle tips
  • Creating a series of brackets to accept multiple hotend types

Develop features to augment aesthetics such a as LED lighting, a holder for Gigabot tablet, removable enclosure, etc.

The USA Bot

Hack a Gigabot so it represents the Lonestar state!  Concho brackets, cowboy boot toolholders, longhorns, the state flag… you are only limited by your creativity and Texas pride!

You will be responsible for outbound sales targeting and sales reporting for “Gigabot”, the world’s largest, affordable 3D printer, sold in 53 countries. Gigabot markets to both enterprises and end users across diverse applications, including: government agencies, specialty manufacturers, rapid prototypers, universities, artists, and hobbyists, among others.

Ideal candidates possess a college degree in STEM, extensive experience in 3D printing, a passion for community, and 1 to 5 years of sales experience, preferably in manufacturing and/or precision tools. Must have competence in sales analysis/targeting, growth hacking, and FFF 3D printer operation.

This position requires effective verbal & written communication skills both in person and in digital/virtual formats. Proficiency in computer and typing skills with knowledge in Microsoft Office, Dropbox and Google Drive is required. This position requires a candidate that is outgoing, self-directed, flexible, reliable, persistent, and customer service oriented. Frequent travel between Austin & Houston will be required for this role, with occasional travel outside of Texas.

Sales ninjas will also be responsible for: Targeting, analyzing sales data to identify trends and forecast demand,  providing the customer with knowledge and information related to our products & services; using account management processes to anticipate customer needs and how our products can fulfill them, and working closely with company personnel to manage the sales closing process.
