Houston’s coolest 3D printing start-up, re:3D (re3d.org) is seeking assistance with our manufacturing operations in Houston.

As a Production Specialist, you will be responsible for all aspects of the physical production of 3D printers, including preparing assemblies, coordinating written instructions and training others. You must also manage/ optimize our CRM, source suppliers for materials and conduct quality assurance to ensure the efficient production of industrial 3D printers. The ideal candidate is a creative, self-motivated team player who can work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment and is determined to create efficiencies and ensure that the printers manufactured are the best quality.

Full Time position 40hrs/wk

Responsibilities include:

  • CRM management

  • Report generation

  • Physical inventory management

  • Supply chain coordination

  • Performs quality assurance measures pre- and post-production

  • Performs finishing operations

  • Helps unload raw materials and cleans and maintains work areas

  • Works on multiple projects

  • Establishes and maintains effective team relationships

  • Follows all company policies, procedures, and business ethics codes

  • Designs detailed assembly procedures

  • Trains production staff on new procedures

  • Work closely with product engineers & customer support to troubleshoot assembly problems and support product development

  • Calibrating tools

  • Has five (or more) years of experience

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or GED required; advanced education degree preferred

  • Minimum 5 years of experience managing a manufacturing operation

  • Demonstrates excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Possesses communication & math skills (adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing whole numbers and fractions and converting fractions to decimals and vice versa)

  • Able to work well under pressure to output consistent, high-quality work

  • Able to stand for long periods of time

  • Able to lift 50 or more pounds

  • Able to use light power equipment

Software Engineer for 3D Printer Manufacturer

We’re looking for someone with:

  • Experience programming and testing motion control software.
  • Passion for Marlin firmware development in Ardunio and system-level debugging
  • Ability to optimize code for performance, experience with profiling
  • Fluent in Git, managing GitHub repositories, and Open Source project maintenance
  • Demonstrated attention to detail, focusing on clean architecture and documentation
  • 3D printing know-how
  • Experience in industrial electronic products (can dig deep into schematics and rooting)
  • Experience with real time systems, embedded C, microcontrollers, low level systems (ARM)
  • Affiliation with manufacturing techniques and subsequent fields of expertise like mechanics
  • Knowledge of main communication protocols (USB, SPI, I2C, etc.)
  • Experience in development, preferably product development, defining and bring up solutions for Gigabot platforms

re:3D is currently looking for an intern to work for from May 2016-August 2016 with our Design team. This position is based in our Austin, TX location.

Engineer, design and 3D print a unique, fully functional model that will levitate using unconventional means.

  • Determine optimum filament materials for torsion strength, flight

3D Printed Photobooth

The Toilet Challenge

Design a fully functional 3D printed composting toilet with solar fan to be showcased at a live event.

Terabot

Step into the R&D lab for re:3D and get your hands on re:3D’s largest adventure in 3D printing machines. Use your mechanical and electrical engineering skills in the design and prototyping of an ultra large and precise 3D printer boasting a build volume of more than one meter cubed!

Know Your Filament

Love to 3D print? Excited to try printing with every known filament under the sun? We are looking for someone with a curious mind to work  in collaboration with re:3D and the University of Texas mechanical engineering and additive manufacturing labs to evaluate 3D printing materials. Create ASTM test samples and document filament characteristics for all existing and experimental filaments from semi-flex to potato based filament to high strength carbon fiber and Ultem.

Skillset: 3D printing, organization, mechanical engineering

Reports to: Chief Engineer

Location: Houston

Battery Backup for Current 24V Gigabot

Create a battery backup system for the current Gigabot design, and document the ability to print after losing power for over one hour. Package as a retrofit for the Gigabot so that all of our existing customers can utilize this capability.

Skillsets: Organized, knowledge of 3D printing, electrical engineering, a great attitude, experience hacking, strong technical writing

Reports to :  Chief Technologist

Flexible Extrusion

Complete a series of projects to evaluate and increase the capability to print with more materials. Projects include:

  • Developing a protocol to evaluate prints made with new nozzles
  • Hacking a prototype extruder compatible for printing with 6mm “sticks” of PET
  • Evaluating a series of nozzle tips
  • Creating a series of brackets to accept multiple hotend types
